Wednesday's Artisan of the Week

Thanks for stopping by to learn about this weeks, Artisan of the Week.
Today's featured artisan is Janet Miller from Pink Poppy Studio.

I recently emailed her asking if she would be able to send me a short blurt about
herself and her jewelry, so I could feature her wonderful studio.
Here is what she had to say:
turquoise, freshwater pearl, porcelain and brass bracelet. OOAK."My name is Janet, aka Pink Poppy of Pink Poppy Studio. I have been making jewelry for around 10 years, not counting my short foray into macaroni necklace construction when I was a young girl. I am a self-taught jewelry artisan. My inspiration comes from my surroundings, the beautiful Pacific Northwest. Most of the jewelry that I make is limited edition & one-of-a kind, using semiprecious gemstones, sterling, & fine silver. I have recently enjoyed adding a whimsical mix of handcrafted ceramic & antiqued brass jewelry to my repertoire. The greatest joy of making & selling jewelry is that it has provided a way for me to "give back" to others who need help.  I donate a portion of the proceeds of my sales in my Art Fire & Etsy shops to a rotating group of nonprofit organizations each month. I am so very grateful for my wonderful customers who allow me this opportunity."

And know for a little bit of information from me...

pink garnet, artisan bronze, and antiqued brass earrings. OOAK.I was first drawn to Pink Poppy's studio because of her amazing photographs of her jewelry. She has her own little "studio" outside where she takes all of her pictures and they are great because they reflect her inspiration for her jewelry. After being hooked by her photographs, I liked her on Facebook and explored her Art Fire studio. I soon discovered that all of her jewelry is truly unique and exquisite. She has such a beautiful and fresh style of making jewelry and as she mentioned her handmade items are definitely one of a kind. But not only is Janet a great artisan, she also is fun to follow on Facebook. She often makes small talk about the little creatures that visit her in her photo studio. The other day she captured a photograph of an ant carrying a dragonfly!  Janet also has a special of the day on Facebook, which is inspired by her younger days as a waitress.

In June, the donation is being made to the American Red Cross!
